The Prince and Princess of Asturias visit the Torresol Energy and SENER stand at WFES in Abu Dhabi


This morning, Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Asturias visited the joint stand of Spanish companies SENER and Torresol Energy, at the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), a leading trade show in the renewable power industry being held these days in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia visited various stands, among them the joint stand of Spanish engineering company SENER, leader in solar technology, and Torresol Energy Investment, S.A., a company owned 60% by the SENER group and 40% by the company Masdar (belonging to the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, ADFEC, a company working to develop renewable power launched by the investment firm MUBADALA Development Company, owned by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi), which promotes concentrated solar power plants.

At the stand, the Prince and Princess discovered, helped by the Presidents of SENER and Torresol Energy, Jorge Sendagorta and Enrique Sendagorta respectively, some of the innovative solar projects in which the two companies are involved, from SENER’s latest technology in concentrated solar power, to the three Torresol Energy projects currently in construction using SENER engineering: Gemasolar, the world’s first project on a commercial scale using central tower technology with molten salts storage sustem, and the Valle 1 and Valle 2 plants, which use technology with cylindrical-parabolic collectors and molten salts storage system, located in Cadiz.
