Mendoza is responsible for the commercial operations of the Gemasolar Thermosolar Plant (Fuentes de Andalusia, Seville), the world’s first power plant with heliostat field technology and a central tower with molten-salt thermal storage.
After joining Torresol Energy in 2010, he has held various positions in the company as head of operations, until being appointed plant manager in 2015. His career covers extensive experience in operating, maintaining and executing special projects and optimizing facilities and production processes.
Before this, Mendoza developed his career in the paper industry, as manager of the water plant and head of the pulp mill.
Born in Seville in 1979, he has a degree in industrial chemistry from the University of Seville, and has a master’s degree in occupational risk prevention from the Francisco de Vitoria University (Madrid).
