Responsible for activities related to the field of energy and environmental regulations applicable when running plants, specifically the group’s thermosolar plants, as well as aspects related to monitoring workers’ Health and Safety across all workplaces.
Having been a part of Torresol Energy since it was founded, Ortega was initially the group’s Business Development Manager, responsible for all development processes that led to the construction of three of the group’s thermosolar power plants: managing sites, authorizations and construction licenses, and putting plants and their additional infrastructures into service. Once the plants were in operation, his knowledge of specific regulations in the renewable energy sector helped Torresol Energy to circumvent difficulties in the sector due to regulatory reform from 2012-2014, allowing the company to consolidate its business activities.
During his first 10 years in the SENER Group, he participated in elaborating various business initiatives in the field of generating clean energies and processing industrial, farming and urban waste. He previously worked in technology consulting and development in the energy sector.
Born in Madrid in 1962, Ortega has a degree in chemistry – specializing in industry – from the Complutense University of Madrid. He is currently studying a master’s degree in occupational risk prevention at the Francisco de Vitoria University (Madrid).
