Carmen Sabater, Torresol Energy’s new Human Resources Director

Carmen María Sabater has been appointed Director of Human Resources of Torresol Energy, a group having the objective of promoting technological development, construction, operation and maintenance of large solar thermal electricity plants around the world. Currently, Torresol Energy has a division specialized in the efficient operation of this kind of plants, namely, Torresol O&M, and has built three plants in Spain that are distinguished by their innovative technology: the pioneer Gemasolar, which is the first plant in the world to use tower receiver technology in combination with long-term molten salt thermal storage system, and Valle 1 and Valle 2, two twin installations with parabolic-trough technology.

In her new position, Carmen Sabater will be responsible for designing and implementing Torresol Energy’s People Management policies. The company’s workforce develops the design of high added value technological solutions, as well as the construction, operation and maintenance of solar thermal electricity plants.

Carmen Sabater has an extensive experience of over 20 years in the field of Human Resources and has previously worked in companies such as Albie, Monsanto and GlaxoSmithKline, multinational corporations with a workforce of more than 20,000 employees scattered throughout the world.

Carmen Sabater has a Degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from the Instituto de Empresa (IE), a Postgraduate in Development & Managing People from ESADE as well as a certificate in “Driving change successfully” issued by the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa (IESE). She is also supportive mentor and solidarity consultant at ESADE.
