ETSIME Master’s degree students from the Polytechnic University of Madrid visit Gemasolar


A group of master’s degree students from the Superior Technical School of Mining and Energy Engineers (ETSIME) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) visited the facilities of the Gemasolar plant, the innovative thermoelectric solar plant owned by Torresol Energy, designed and built by the group of engineering and technology,SENER.

The managing director of Torresol Energy, Diego Ramírez, together with the plant technician explained the operation of the plant, the first in the world to apply on a commercial scale the central tower system with high temperature storage in molten salt and also the first capable of producing energy for 24 uninterrupted hours exclusively with solar energy.
